Chair   The Chair chairs all committee meetings and represents the club at association and national body AGM's and EGM's.

The Chair acts as a spokesperson for the club.

Vice Chair In the absence of the chairperson monitor the club activities and represent the club.

Secretary The Secretary is answerable to the club committee for all aspects of the day to day correspondence and communication to and from the club.

The Secretary assists with any publicity required by the club.

Treasurer The Treasurer is answerable to the club committee for all aspects of the finances of the club.

The role of the Treasurer has grown to encompass that of Membership Secretary.

Meets Secretary Position Vacant The Meets Secretary is answerable to the club committee for all aspects of the coordination and organisation of the club's outdoor paddling activities.

The Meets Secretary coordinates the coaching rota for the pool sessions.

Child Protection Officer The Child Protection Officer is to report to the committee on any relevant situations with regard to Child Protection.

Terms of Reference  All posts are elected / re-elected at the AGM. 

 

Post of Chair: The incumbent for the post of Chair is elected at the AGM.  The Chair chairs all committee meetings and represents the club at association and national body AGM's and EGM's; the Chair also acts as a spokesperson for the club.  The Chair also:

  • With the Treasurer and Secretary, prepares annual budgets and any grant or sponsorship applications.

  • With the Treasurer and Secretary, reviews the Development Plan on an annual basis.

  • With the Treasurer and Secretary, monitor the budget and make recommendations to the committee

  • Liase closely with the Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer

Vice Chair:  The incumbent for the post of Vice Chair is elected at the AGM.  In the absence of the Chair, the Vice Chair:

  • Chairs committee meetings in the absence of the Chair

  • Represents the club at events

  • Liase closely with the Secretary and Treasurer

  • Monitors those duties and activities currently being undertaken by the Chair and deputises as appropriate

Secretary: The incumbent for the post of Secretary is elected at the AGM.  The Secretary is expected to:

  • Be the primary point for communication with all statutory bodies

  • Help publicise the club as required

  • Deal with mail and pass on details to committee / members as required

  • Take minutes at all committee meetings

  • Organise dates and bookings for pool sessions

  • Deputise for treasurer as required

Post of Treasurer:  The incumbent for the post of Treasurer is elected at the AGM, and is answerable to the club committee for all aspects of the finances of the club.  The role of the treasurer has grown to encompass that of Membership Secretary.  In particular, the Treasurer is expected to:

Treasurer

  • Maintain the cashbook

  • Maintain the club bank account

  • Reconcile the cashbook with the bank account on a monthly basis

  • Produce reports as and when required by the committee

  • Pay bills in a timely manner

  • Bring to the attention of the committee/chairman any other matter that is deemed appropriate

  • Collect pool fees at pool sessions

  • Collect fees at river trips

Membership Secretary

  • Maintain a register of members

  • Maintain a register of members qualifications

  • Produce reports as and when required by the committee

  • Bring to the attention of the committee/chairman any other matter that is deemed appropriate

Meets Secretary:  The incumbent for the post of Meets Secretary is elected at the AGM, and is answerable to the club committee for all aspects of the coordination and organisation of the club's outdoor paddling activities.  Specifically, the Meets Secretary is responsible for:

  • Programming river trips for the year

  • Organising river trips and equipment required

  • Coordinating river trips

  • Designing and co-ordinating a coaching rota for pool sessions

  • Networking with other clubs and paddlers

  • Informing Club members of forthcoming events

  • Liaison with the Membership Secretary in maintaining an up to date register of members
